Hi all, happy 2019!
And welcome to my new blog! Happy to see you checking out my first entry. 😉 Let me introduce myself real quick.
My name is Isabelle and I’m a 25-year-old girl from Munich, Germany. I don’t know where it comes from but I have always had the urge to just “go somewhere and explore” – on my own. I love to be en route by myself, to be independent and to decide what I want to see and explore, to be completely in charge of my own itinerary. The first trip I ever did on my own was in 2012 – to Brazil. I stayed in Rio de Janeiro for about two weeks, took Portuguese classes, stayed with a local family and did some volunteer work in a kindergarten. I guess that’s when I got hooked. In the following years up until today I traveled solo to places like Hong Kong, Malaysia, Vietnam, New Zealand, Sydney, Iceland, the Philippines, L.A., Singapore… and I hope to keep adding places to this list. 😉
This is actually my second attempt at starting a blog. I had started writing one at the end of 2017 but that didn’t go all too well. So here I am again, 4th of January 2019, writing the first blogpost on my new blog: babeontherun. I think this name embodies the whole travel/wanderlust spirit quite well! 😉
What can you expect to find on here in the future?
All things related to travel!
To be a little more precise: my aim is to provide you with travel inspiration. I find that oftentimes us women get a little intimidated by the idea of traveling alone, without a companion, and also get discouraged by family and/or friends to do so (“It’s so dangerous!!!” *eyeroll*).
My goal is to take away any fear or doubts you might have about solo traveling and to show you all the beautiful places waiting to be discovered by you! I will be uploading photos and information about my trips and hope to encourage you to visit some of these destinations yourself. 🙂
That is the essence of this blog in a nutshell.
Of course, traveling solo is not a must – everyone enjoys a different or multiple different ways of traveling. Solo traveling/backpacking is just my favorite way of traveling, but I wholeheartedly recommend you traveling to whatever destination with as many (or few 😉 ) people as you like!
That’s it for now.
Hope to see you around here in future!
